The Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) Partnership for Success (PFS) Grant works to prevent and reduce the onset and progression of substance abuse, while strengthening prevention capacity and infrastructure at a community level. Awarded from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), PFS funding supports programs in Arizona’s urban, rural and tribal communities that combat alcohol and marijuana misuse and abuse by current or former foster youth ages 9-20 and their caregivers. By using the SPF five-step planning process, grant awardees are able to guide the selection, implementation, and evaluation of effective, culturally appropriate, and sustainable substance abuse prevention activities within their communities.
